Could Adele be sloth?
Are you saying Jane Eyre is envy just because of the Blanche Ingram tthing, or other things as well?

Well she was envious of Blanch but she also seemed envious of the more fortunate people around her throughout most of the book. Not always in a really bad way. Maybe more of a yearning to be loved and accepted kind of thing. I mean, Mrs. Reed's children alone exhibit every single one of the seven deadly sins, lol. Actually Adele would be a good sloth!

Mr. Mason? Why?

Because it was his stupid fault getting in on trying to make Mr. Rochester marry his psychotic sister in the first place, and then he goes and gets himself bitten and still tattles on him.

You know, I never thought about that. Mason may have had a touch of the family Madness himself.
The whole thing is just so frustrating because is Mr Rochester was just Catholic, the whole thing could have been annulled in 2 seconds. Arrrgh
